Renovation and interior design of a duplex apartment for a private client in Brussels.
The interior project features a quiet nordic style, that celebrates the abundance of natural light present in the flat through white walls and wooden furniture.
Inspired by the nature of the nearby park, we proposed a colour scheme made of green and blue shades, as well as flowered and forest patterns.
To add interest and movement we played with patterned wallpapers, that we included also on the ceiling (who wouldn’t like to sleep under a floral sky?), as well as with stripes (a motif that comes across the whole interior) and geometric details.
Most of the budget has been allocated to the renovation of the open plan kitchen and bathroom. A new elegant emerald green kitchen has been created while keeping the ancient cabinet and doors, renovated and repainted. The green bathroom has been imagined like a forest spa, featuring Moroccan cement tiles, an arched mirror and bespoke wooden furniture.
A reeded glass partition has been integrated in the kitchen wall to separate the volumes of the living area from the hallway, and give more intimacy to the room. A black, imposing metal stairway has been painted in a soft creamy white shade, to turn a massive old-styled feature into a delicate and contemporary piece of art.
