Duplex transforms surplus and industrial by-products into circular furniture and objects, embracing the potential of waste materials to shape innovative, high-quality and durable collections.

Committed to transparency, and to reducing the environmental impact of their products while extending the lifespan, Duplex designs and produces locally in Brussels, controlling internally every step, from sourcing to final delivery.

We like it because: each piece is Eco-impact certified and crafted from repurposed waste and byproducts, along with responsibly sourced materials from sustainable suppliers.

2. BLIME

In 2020, Armand realized that the paint offerings were too vast and dreamed of a simpler experience; so he joined forces with Adrien, the grandson of a family painting business in Montpellier that had been running for over 70 years. Together, they created Blime: a brand that combines historic expertise, demanding quality, and responsible manufacturing.

Today Blime offers a premium water-based low-VOC paint, available in 4 finishes and collections of carefully selected shades. Each shade is prepared fresh to order in their Montpellier workshop, with no excess or waste.

We like it because: to help you choose the perfect shade, Blime provides you with movable samples, that you can install on your walls, peel off, and move as you wish, adapting to the changing light at different times of the day. Furthermore, we’re big fans of their latest collaborations with Lisa Gachet, designer and founder of Make My Lemonade, who gave birth to an exclusive palette of shades, designed to awaken your interiors with character and joy.

3. COLOR THERAPIS

Color Therapis brings together the love for colour and artisanal know-how into beautiful collections of handmade rugs, cushions and furniture.

Designed in Paris under the artistic direction of Lavinia Augeai, their iconic rugs are crafted by a team of artisans based in Varanasi, India, specialised in tufting, looming and hand-knotted fabrics. Their wool cushions are also entirely handwoven, crafted with different asymmetrical and colourful shapes.

We like it because: their geometries and colours bring movement and joy into any interior space. Big plus, all their rugs can be made to measure, with the dimensions, colours and even patterns of your choice.

4. ROVER

Rover furniture
Rover furniture

Based in Flanders, Belgium, ROVER uses residual flows from local industries to give them a new life. Once inventoried, residual waste is reused in furniture production to create chairs, tables, stool or lamps, according to the materials collected.

The colourful Scrap chair, for example, is an indoor or outdoor chair made from laser-cut scraps from metalworkers. The pattern in the backrest and seat depends on the laser-cut or punched components, making the chairs unique.

We like it because: beyond giving a new life to industrial waste, the method developed by ROVER reverses the design process: instead of starting with an idea, the brand starts from what already exists.

5. JULIE MALLET

A former interior designer converted to digital manufacturing, Julie Mallet designs and manufactures sustainable 3D printed objects with innovative and eco-responsible materials.

Passionate about biomaterials and waste recycling, the French maker mainly works with filaments co-produced with materials from the reuse sector such as PLA (polylactic acid), made from European and French mussel shells, oysters, scallops or crushed bricks. From vases to lamps, all products are designed and made-to-order in her Marseille workshop, inspired by the Mediterranean, its textures and organic shapes.

We like it because: Julie perfectly succeeds in bringing to life poetic and evocative everyday objects made of repurposed waste, using a digital manufacturing process like 3d printing.
