Join us for a practical and empowering workshop where you’ll learn the principles of space planning and furniture layout in order to create organised and optimised rooms for your interior project.
This workshop is suitable both for design enthusiasts and design professionals willing to dive into the world of room layouts.
Objectives:
Learn the basics of space planning and room flow
Understand standard furniture dimensions and circulation rules
Explore how to adapt layouts based on needs, lifestyle, and architecture
Create 1–2 layout drafts for real rooms
Practical information:
Duration: 4 hours, including a break
Group size: 6 to 10 participants

The first part of the workshop is designed to help you understand the main principles of space planning and how to draft and read a floor plan. We will use examples of floor plans, sketches, furniture cutouts and visual presentations of before and after cases.
1. Understanding Space
- What is space planning, and why it matters
Functional zones: circulation, furniture groupings, negative space
Standard furniture dimensions: sofas, beds, tables, etc.
- Flow: what makes a room easy and comfortable to move through
Good vs problematic layouts
2. Tools & Techniques
- Reading and sketching floor plans
Scale basics and graph paper
Zoning with furniture: grouping and anchoring
Vertical planning: storage, height, wall usage
Modular vs fixed elements
- Measuring tips
